You might have seen your social media feed flooded with images of the brand new Emirates B777 First Class ‘suites’ just unveiled at the Dubai Airshow… here’s what you need to know about the refreshed new aircraft interiors, with luxury touches extending all the way from the premium cabins to the back of the plane.
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class-inspired design in the First Class suites is literally taking things next level – starting with the reclinable leather seats that employ NASA technology to provide an opt-in zero-gravity sensation for the ultimate relaxation. The 40 square-feet private suites almost feel like mini apartments thanks to clever design, with plenty of storage, space for getting changed/dressed even when the seat is in fully-flat position and the bed made up, and a full-length wardrobe. Other highlight features include a separate service window (so you don’t have to open the floor-to-ceiling sliding doors for a drinks refill); video calling for ‘room service’; and a virtual ‘window’ for those stuck in the middle seat (plus binoculars for those with the window seat). Although, even with a middle seat, in a first class cabin like this, you won’t hear us complaining!
The colour palette has been updated to feature soft greys, champagne, and cream, with a signature ghaf tree motif – this makes an appearance across all cabins – offering a sense of place (the ghaf is an indigenous desert tree of the United Arab Emirates).

The business class cabins get an upgrade to a sports car-like feel too, with a sleek new look, and diamond stitch leather seat covers. The rest of the features, all of which we’ve come to really appreciate – from flat-bed seats, 20-inch LCD screens, luxury limousine transfer service, and premium lounge access, to the gourmet food offerings, which offers a culinary insight into your destination with menus featuring local cuisine and ingredients – stay intact.

The Economy class cabins have been updated to feature a soft grey and blue colour palette, full leather headrests with flexible panels for side and vertical adjustments, and next-gen ultra-wide touch-screen TVs offering the whole range of Emirates’ award-winning ICE in-flight programming.

This is the sort of flight experience that makes it as much about the journey, as the destination… wouldn’t you say?
